Introduction to Oakwood School

Oakwood School was founded in 1912 and has grown into a thriving co-educational preparatory day school, for 280 children aged between 2½ to 11.

The School is set in 160 acres of glorious park and woodland between the South Downs and the coast. Oakwood's home is a large Georgian country house.

Our children learn in a wonderfully safe and spacious environment in the heart of beautiful Sussex countryside, only two miles from Chichester.

The Headmaster, Johnnie Kittermaster, joined the school in Septemeber 2007 and is a dynamic leader who has already implemented some very positive changes, which have enhanced the school in a variety of ways.

The Oakwood Way was developed by the children at the School and it seeks to guide them making clear the school's expectations. It is a code of conduct that every child is expected to follow.

The Oakwood Way is printed in the Homework Diary and is also displayed in all classrooms.
