Little Oaks Nursery

The Oakwood School Nursery welcomes children from the age of 2½. The Nursery is accommodated in its own cosy building close to the Pre-Prep part of the school.

Great care is taken to welcome and settle each child and there is a wonderful family atmosphere in the Nursery as well as a great sense of fun.

The staff in Nursery are all qualified and experienced and the team is led by Gemma Woods who has an absolute passion for children of this age group.

The Nursery operates a 'Key Worker' system which helps both the child and the parent with continuity and a sense of belonging. It also helps both staff members and parents to build good raport with each other.

The children take part in lots of activities which include dance, P.E. music lessons and swimming once per week. They also cook every other week.

A large emphasis is placed on building a solid foundation of social skills and a love of learning, which will enables the children to settle confidently to school life.

There is a secure garden with outdoor play facilities, as well as a covered play area ensuring that children can venture outside in most weathers.

Children in the Nursery use the fabulous Woodland Walk every day, so that they can enjoy the environment around them. These daily walks are taken come rain, sunshine or snow!
