Art & DT at Oakwood

Oakwood pupils enjoy an exciting and varied programme of Art & Design Technology. Rock carving, body casting, ceramics, silk painting, Oriental art, kite making and glass etching are just some of the activities that the children experience. 

Visits from local artists and sculptors enhance and extend the children's work.

This year saw the first Oakwood Art Exhibition, a chance for every child from Reception upwards, to select a piece of their work to be exhibited. The event was judged by the Head of Learning at the renowned Pallant House Gallery, who said that the standard of work was some of the highest he had seen. This will now be an annual event, giving the pupils the opportunity to display what they have been creating.
