You'd have been sure of a big surprise last Friday at Oakwood as the Pre-Prep Department was over-run with bears! First of all, Mrs Davies' Reception class put on a great version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears at Whole School Assembly and then everyone had a Teddy Bears' Picnic under the oak tree with their favourite teddies!

Year 2 brought the Guy Fawkes story to life at Oakwood School assembly today with a fantastic version of the infamous plot. With their imaginative costumes and enthusiastic acting, they kept the whole school on the edges of their seats! [more]

The Year 2 children at Oakwood School have been studying World War II this term.They have enjoyed their lessons and have even been dressing up to try and understand how it felt to be an evacuee.Today, The Rainbow Theatre Company visited Oakwood School and brought the evacuation to life through acting. The children took part and thoroughly enjoyed this fun but educational visit. [more]

The Oakwood School Council was chosen at the beginning of term.The Pupils from Year 2 upwards meet regularly to discuss current school issues and agree solutions. [more]

The day was a huge success with 18 players taking part. Catherine Hutchin and Geoff Brooke-Jones were the eventual winners in the Grand Final but Simon Clarke and Debbie Crampin gave them a good run around. The final score was 6-2. The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all!Thank you to Catherine Hutchin who organised the event which raised over £70 for the FOO. [more]

Oakwood has three fantastic new members of staff joining the school at the beginning of the academic year. Last year the Chichester Prep school saw the arrival of the new Headmaster, Johnnie Kittermaster and under his leadership the school has flourished and significant changes have been made. The Speech Day at Oakwood School was a huge success. The guest speaker, Kate Mosse, spoken with passion and humour about her time at school and latterly as a world famous author.The Headmaster, Johnnie Kittermaster, gave an animated review of the year, highlighting the school's many triumph's.The Year 6 and Year 2 children sang 'We are the young' and there weren't many dry eyes in the marquee following that.Well done to everyone and good luck to...
