Many congratulations to the ten pupils whose wonderful illustrations for the 'Put yourself in my shoes' poem have been chosen to be hung at the world-famous Pallant House Gallery as part of their "Painted Poems" competition and exhibition.
The pupils have been invited to the exhibition opening and prize-giving ceremony on Thursday night and their work will be displayed in the Gallery until the end of November.

The staff and pupils are preparing for the exciting "Take One Picture" project, lead by the National Gallery. Following on from the very successful art exhibition at Oakwood School, Sarah Mayhead has met with Marc Steene of Pallant House Gallery to discuss how the school and the gallery can work together.Oakwood will be collaborating with Pallant House to produce a body of work which will be exhibited at the Gallery during 2010.The theme of the project is yet to be decided; it may tie in with a visiting exhibition or be inspired by the permanent... Oakwood School in Chichester entered the Greenpower Challenge at Goodwood last weekend. The children in Year 6 at Oakwood spent two terms in an after school club building two goblin kit cars and were lucky enough to race on the track at good wood during the annual event. The 10th Seaford College Art Exhibition took place this weekend and the Oakwood School children had many pieces of artwork on display.In total, there were 200 pieces of work that had been selected for the exhibition from Years 1 to 6.12 other preparatory schools took part in the competition.Katie Kittermaster, a Year 1 pupil, won 1st prize within the Oakwood category for her clay tile.Stephen Doll, a Year 5 pupil, was awarded Highly Commended... Francesca Coulson, a year 2 pupil at Oakwood School in Chichester, has triumphed in the Daily Telegraph Christmas card competition. What a way to start the new autumn half term. In came Dick Martin, sculptor and artist laden with brightly coloured glass mosaic tiles, cement and bags of messy grout.
