Prize-winning pupils at Oakwood School were honoured to be presented with their awards by the Olympic gold medallist Sally Gunnell at this year’s very successful Speech Day. Little Oaks Nursery take a trip to Staunton Country Park

The children from Oakwood's Little Oaks Nursery took at trip out to visit Staunton Country Park this week.

The absolutely loved their trip where they got to see and feed all the animals. There were lots of newly born baby animals which of course added to their enjoyment.

  • Watoto Children's Choir visit Oakwood

    Oakwood was honoured to host the Watoto Children’s Choir from Uganda this week for a morning concert. The children, aged between 7 and 13 and all orphans looked after by the Watoto Childcare Ministeries, sang beautifully and passionately and some told the story of their life.   • West Sussex Fire and Rescue visit Oakwood School

    Oakwood School was visited by the West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service today.The children in Kindergarten and Reception were given an in-sight into the service and what happens in an emergency by Carol Hart from the service.'Trying on the hats was great fun', commented one of the children!   • Potato Day

    All term, each class in the Pre-Prep Department has been competing to see who could grow the biggest crop from 3 seed potatoes in buckets in the Stable courtyard. Maggie Haynes from Tuppenny Barn kindly came to adjudicate on the eagerly awaited Potato Day when each bucket was emptied out and the potatoes weighed and counted.   • Former Oakwood Pupil to represent GB at Beijing Olympics!

    We were thrilled to welcome back Christine Bassadone, a former Oakwood pupil, and her team-mate Saskia Clark who are currently preparing to represent Great Britain in Beijing in the Ladies' 470 sailing class. The girls gave a fascinating and truly inspirational talk about their sport and about going to the Olympic Games.   • Portsmouth Football Club come to Oakwood School!

    Portsmouth Football Club Community coaches came to Oakwood School last week. Their lead coach, Paul Curran, started the day off with an assembly on healthy eating and the importance of hydration. Each year group, from 1 to 6, then had a 40 minute coaching session which included fun games and simple ball and football skills.
