Admissions Journey
We welcome open conversations with families regarding their children's next steps in education.
- Prospective parents are encouraged to visit the school and meet the Headteacher, staff and pupils. We are always pleased to arrange appointments to allow you to experience the ethos of the school. Please ring 01243 575 209 and ask to speak with the Admissions Manager to book your visit or for an informal conversation about life at Oakwood.
- Our Headteacher or Admissions Manager conduct school tours. Please expect to spend approximately one and a half hours with us (however, we are able to tailor visits according to the time you have available).
- Once parents have decided they wish to proceed with an application for a place, they will complete an Application for Admission form and be asked to transfer the registration fee.
- Prior to entry, we would expect children to spend two taster days with us to allow them to familiarise themselves with the Oakwood environment and for us to assess their abilities.
- A Confirmation of Entry Deposit of £300 for Pre-School children (Little Oaks Nursery and Kindergarten) or £500 for entries to Reception to Year 6 is then due to confirm the place; this is refundable against the final end of term account. If any child is withdrawn after this deposit has been paid, the school reserves the right to charge the first term's fees.
- Should a particular year group be full, you may register your child on our 'Waiting List' and we will contact you as soon as a place becomes available.
- Fees are payable in advance and must be received by the first day of term. A full term's notice must be given prior to the removal of a child from the School, otherwise a full term's fees in lieu of notice will be charged. 'Extras' are kept to a minimum and include those activities not taught within the established curriculum such as individual music lessons, SEND lessons and clubs.
