The Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) is a body approved by the Secretary of State for Education for the purpose of inspecting independent schools.

Since 2023 all independent schools have a routine inspection typically once every three years and one word judgments are no longer awarded. The current inspection framework now focuses on the extent to which the Independent Schools Standards and other regulatory standards are met.  It also provides guidance for governors and leaders relating to recommended development opportunities and clearly states whether the school’s safeguarding practices meet the required standards.  Oakwood meets all regulations and standards and the recommended next steps for development also help us to identify opportunities for building on Oakwood’s existing strengths and continued success.
