- ‘Healthy Me’ Curriculum Focus Week: There will be a focus within assemblies and activities about the importance of and ways to practice being healthy in mind and body.

- “The Great Oakwood Bake-Off Finale - Brownies & Blondies“: Well done to our seven finalists! The first round was very tough to judge. Thank you to ALL who entered for their super bakes and presentation efforts. Next Tuesday, the finalists will be recreating their bakes in the Food Tech Suite during the morning, with Miss Lee providing support as their ‘Comis Chef.’ Please could all finalists bring in everything that they need to recreate their bakes. This includes all ingredients and any specific baking utensils/trays/decorations etc.The finished bakes will be judged during the afternoon by our visiting experts, Barbara Wakeford from Emsworth Cookery School and Janie Horlock from Blue Fig Catering. after which we will announce the 2025 overall winner. Prizes will be awarded at Friday Assembly.

- Après Ski Evening, Heritage Room 5.30-6pm: Next Tuesday, we welcome parents and pupils who attended the ski trip to attend an evening sharing photographs and memories from the trip during the Easter break. Ski Trip awards will also be presented.

- VE Day 2025 Red White and Blue Dress-Up Day: Next Thursday, we will celebrate and commemorate the anniversary and importance of VE Day in school with various activities including a whole school ‘Lambeth Walk,’ a traditional fish and chip lunch on the lawns and sharing of VE Day stories in lessons. Children are invited to come to school wearing red, white and blue clothes.

- Welcome to Reception information meeting for current Kindergarten parents, Heritage Room 8.30-9.15am: Next Thursday, we hold the first of our Welcome to Reception sessions for current Kindergarten parents. If you intend to join this session, please come to the Heritage Room in the Main House for an 8.30am start and refreshments will be served.

- Year 3 Assembly Presentation, Lyne Hall, 8.35am: Next Friday’s assembly will be led by Year 3, with a focus on their recent Residential Trip. Parents of Year 3 Pupils, musicians and Star Badge Winners are welcome to join us in the Lyne Hall. Refreshments will be served in the Heritage Room, or lawns behind the main house, weather permitting.
- Mini Orchestra Rehearsing next Friday break time: Please can children remember their instruments next Friday.
Saturday 10th May
- Miss Caroline’s Ballet Exams at Oakwood, Lyne Hall and Gym, 3-4pm: Next Saturday, some children who attend Miss Caroline’s Ballet Classes at Oakwood are taking their exams. Parents of children involved have been sent an information letter and timetable by Parentmail this week. Good luck to all the children in their exams!

Sun Hats, Water Bottles and Sun Cream
As the weather has significantly improved this week, and with hopes that it remains so, please may we remind parents to ensure children have sunhats, water bottles and suncream in school - all named please.
Please can suncream also be applied at home before school.

May we also remind you that we have now phased out Oakwood waterbottles, so we do not have spares that we can provide at school. We do have water fountains to refill bottles.

SAVE THE DATE - The Big Charity Stonepillow Sleepout at Oakwood
Back by popular demand - please save the date for the Charity Stonepillow Sleepout held at Oakwood.
This year it is taking place on the night of Friday 23rd May, leading into the half term holiday.
Sign-up details will be sent to parents next week.

Summer Fair Soft Toy Donations and Colour Run Sign-Up
Our Oakwood Summer Fair takes place on Saturday 14th June between 11am-1pm, with the Oakwood Charity Colour Run taking place directly afterwards at 1.30pm.
Soft Toy Donations
As preparations are underway, the Nursery parents would be grateful for soft toy donations for their Soft Toy Tombola Stand. Please drop any donations off at the main house or to Nursery.
We also now call all interested participants to sign up for the Oakwood Charity Colour Run, using the form below. This 'Oakwood First' promises to be a fun way to finish off the day and we hope lots of children and their families will want to join in to raise money for our school charities.

Oakwood Summer Party - Bottle Donations Plea!
Thank you to all those who have already secured their tickets to the Summer Party.
The Year 2 Committee continues to be working hard planning the 'I Can't Believe It's Not Glasto' Event which will take place on Saturday 5th July. It's always a wonderful evening and a great way to for parents to celebrate the end of a school year. If you are yet to secure your tickets, please book via the link below.

Return of cups and trophies
Now is the time to get any cups and trophies awarded last year at Swimming Sports, Sports Day and Speech Day engraved and returned to the school office.

Camp Little Oaks & CSS Activities Booking Forms
Camp Little Oaks is now available to book for May Half Term. Please complete the booking form below. Camp Little Oaks is internally-run, providing holiday care for Oakwood pupils in Nursery and Kindergarten.
A reminder for May Half Term, that Reception children should now join CSS Activities to enjoy their fun and age-appropriate camp provision.

IAPS National Swimming Finals
A special well done to Bertie G and Dylan M who have qualified for the IAPS National Swimming Finals at the London Aquatic Centre (the Olympic Pool) on Saturday 7th June.
