We create a family environment where our strong community values are at the heart of our school. The celebration of each child as a happy, confident and independent individual is central to our ethos.
We create a family environment where our strong community values are at the heart of our school. The celebration of each child as a happy, confident and independent individual is central to our ethos.
Set in over 100 acres of stunning grounds, we take every opportunity to learn outdoors. From ages 2 to 11, our children learn and play in a wonderfully safe and spacious environment with extensive facilities, including a swimming pool, gymnasium, performing arts hall, library and dining room.
We offer an exceptional education, full of opportunities. Our children are eager to learn, well-balanced and enjoy coming to school to experience a broad curriculum. We aim to inspire a lifelong love of learning, as well as an enthusiasm for cultural and sporting activities. Encouragement and the celebration of effort and achievement are at the heart of everything we do.
Welcome to our Pre-School
I am Mrs Emma Tarry, Head of Early Years (Nursery, Kindergarten & Reception). I am passionate about giving the youngest members of our Oakwood community the best start to their education. We balance learning and play to create an environment that ignites curiosity and creativity in our pre-school and Reception children that serves them well throughout their time at Oakwood and beyond.
Welcome to Pre-Prep
I am Mrs Amanda Bailey, the Head of Year 1 & Year 2 and with Mrs Emma Tarry as Head of Early Years we have responsibility for our Pre-Prep. For me, learning should be fun and dynamic. One of my favourite characteristics of children in this age group is their developing skills for independent learning and I love to encourage them to be brave and ambitious and have fun.
Welcome to Prep School
I am Mrs Eleanor Bax, I am the Head of Pastoral Care across the school and have responsibility for day-to-day life in the Prep School. I have taught Science for many years and I love encouraging children to experiment in the Science Lab but also in their other subjects. I appreciate how our team prepare our senior pupils for life beyond Oakwood and we encourage them to take on challenges which prepare them for the next step in their education.
